In the parable of the 10 Virgins (see Matthew 25:1-13), Jesus taught about how important it is to be watchful and prepared for His arrival, in part because we are not aware of just when it will be, but mostly because it is important to live for God no matter when Christ returns. In this teaching, Pastor Doug discusses the idea that part of being a prophetic church is to live in such a way that we are always aware that Christ will return, and that we are at the end of this age. We may not have a lot of time to conduct the work that needs to be done, and there will be highly challenging times ahead. But, our attitude should be one of expectation, not dread. We just need to determine that we will – with God’s help – overcome whatever we struggle with, just as Jacob, Paul, and so many others did throughout the Bible.
